wineasio: 24 channels only 21-24 "active"

Atte André Jensen
Hi

I've been running reaper through wine happily for quite some time now with kernel from liquorix, wine-rt + wineasio from kxstudio. I'm recording 24 tracks from my soundcraft mtk22 connected with usb to the linux box.

After upgrading from debian wheezy to stretch I only have sound from channel 21, 22, 23 and 24 from the mixer (caputure_21 - capture_24 in qjackctl), the first 20 channels are dead silent.

I tried with a new .wine folder, registering wineasio anew, and setting number of channels in wineasio to 24 in og 22 out as described in this post:

http://linux-audio.4202.n7.nabble.com/Only-6-channels-with-wineasio-td100579.html

Besides the missing audio on channel 1-20 everything works great.

Obviously the problem can be lots of places, but any pointers as to where to start looking would be highly appreciated.

Here's a bit of info:

atte@skagen:~$ uname -r
4.11.0-11.1-liquorix-686-pae

atte@skagen:~$ cat .jackdrc
/usr/bin/jackd -dalsa -dhw:MTK,0 -r44100 -p256 -n2

atte@skagen:~$ jackd --version
jackdmp version 1.9.11-RC1 tmpdir /dev/shm protocol 8

Oops, forget:

The problem is also when just connecting mhwaveedit to the capture_ channels in qjackctl. Which (to me) means the problem is actually not with wineasio but in the basic setup/recognition of the mtk22 or jack. Sorry for the confusion!

Cheers

Removing pulseaudio seems like a good place to start, I'll try that and report back, thanks for the suggestion!

Didn't have time to look at PA yet, but hooked the mtk22 to my laptop (also running fresh debian stretch) and everything works fine here...

Will report back.

Thanks for your report so far. I'm definitely interested in this. I've
got a MTK12 connected to a box with ubuntustudio but was thinking of
moving to opensuse TW as I use that on my normal boxes. Opensuse TW has
kernel 4.11.8 at the moment.

Hmm, long time went by......

The issue remain, will try to dig in again eventually, but real life + the fact that it works flawlessly on my laptop makes it hard to carve out the time to persue this ATM.

What I however can say is that pulseaudio doesn't seem to be running...

Will get back with any progress!

Thanks
